Over the past few months, there has been speculation that the Eagles will headline a series of concerts at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Now, the venue's CEO hints at the possibility.

According to USA Today, James Dolan, the executive chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment Co., name-dropped the group in a Friday earnings call.

He first explained the process of booking artists or bands to perform at the venue, saying that whenever they tap musicians, they have to create content around them.

"We will never have an act play the Sphere that doesn't have something compelling on the screen," he said, explaining that fans will still go to a Dead & Company show even though they're not a "Deadhead."

He then shared the same thing about the Eagles, seemingly ending the speculations, as he said, "I think the same will be true for the Eagles and the next acts we bring on."

Even though Dolan seemingly confirmed the band's appearance at the Sphere, the group or any venue representative has yet to share details about their shows.

The recent news comes after a source spoke with TMZ and claimed that the rock band was actively discussing potentially performing at the venue.

Reports at the time say that the deal was not yet finalized, but the possible timeline for the band's upcoming shows will be around fall or winter.

The outlet noted that their possible shows by the end of the year match the Eagles' current tour schedule, as their farewell shows will run from September to November.

Regarding the compensation, details about the amount they could be paid have yet to be publicized, but U2 was said to have earned $4 million per show.

In other updates about the band, the group will embark on their farewell tour after performing for more than five decades later this year.

Billed as The Long Goodbye tour, the iconic band will kick off their series of concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, on September 7, 2024.

They will visit major cities across the United States before their last show at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN, on November 17, 2024.

More details about tickets and the complete tour dates are available on their official website.
