P.O.D. has been touring and releasing music over the past few years, but many fans have noticed that one of its members, Noah "Wuv" Bernardo, hasn't recorded any tracks or even joined the group for their concerts. More recently, frontman Sonny Sandoval set the record straight about his bandmate.

The musician sat down with United Rock Nations for an interview, during which he clarified that his bandmate has never left the group because he'll always be the drummer of P.O.D.

However, he explained that Bernardo has been dealing with something personal, adding, "we're all going through stuff right now that it takes personal attention to dive in and to figure it all out so that we can all get along."

Sandoval added that his bandmate is also his cousin, and he doesn't want to discuss his issues with the public.

"We're all grown men and we have to take responsibility in our own lives to just figure things out. And for quite some time now with, there's just been tension in the band," he said.

Since Bernardo has sat out from the lineup for three years, P.O.D. has been working with their touring drummer, Alex Lopez, formerly known as Suicide Silence's past member.

Elsewhere in the interview, Bernardo opened up about how he became a part of the group, saying Lopez reached out to Marcos Curiel to hang out and help him with drum tech. Later, when they needed a drummer, they offered him the position and asked if he wanted to give it a shot.

Fortunately, Lopez agreed to help them and has filled Bernardo's slot for two years.

"I love playing with Alex and it's been so much fun, but we're still waiting to see what happens with P.O.D. as P.O.D. Maybe it's just this album cycle. Who knows?" he said.

In other updates about the group, the band released a music video for the song "Drop" last year, which featured Randy Blythe's vocal cameos.

Regarding their future shows, P.O.D. has several festival appearances throughout 2024, including the Rave/Eagles Club on May 15, the Sonic Temple festival from May 16 to 19, and the So What?! Music Festival 2024 on June 2, Nova Rock 2024 on June 15 to 16, and many more.
