In a previous announcement, Abrams gave an insight into her new project, writing, "We had real, true fun writing this album. There were also the occasional tears... The music is yours in basically five seconds and we cannot wait. I. Love. You."

The album is produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, who collaborated with Swift on her Folklore, Midnights (3 a.m. Edition), Evermore, and The Tortured Poets Department.

This past year has been successful for Abrams because after she opened for Swift on her Era's Tour, she received her first-ever Grammy nomination but lost to Victoria Monét.

In other updates about the singer, Abrams appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for an interview, in which she recalled the moment when Swift called her up on stage for a surprise performance.

At the time, she was slated to perform as an opening act, but her set was canceled due to extreme weather. Later that evening, Swift asked her to join her on stage.

She remembered getting a text from the pop star, saying, "'Hey come out with me and do "I Miss You, I'm Sorry."' And so we ran it one time in her room and then did it there. It was just in the middle of her set and I blacked out the whole time."
