Cardi B has revealed that her long-awaited sophomore album will not be released this year. In fact, there is no album at all.
In a social media rant earlier this morning, the rapper lashed out at her fans setting high expectations for her career. Although the posts are now deleted, the Grammy-winner revealed to the "Bardi Gang" that she will not be releasing her second record this year.
"Anyway NO album this year I don't care I'm relaxing this year," she said in the now-deleted post on X, formerly Twitter. "Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer."
The reveal was a response to a fan who stated that she should spend less time on social media, calling her fans "entitled" for always wanting more from her.
"It's time for her to pull back from social media platforms. Her engagement with fans is underappreciated. Transparency backfires because of her fans' weirdo entitlement. Cardi doesn't have to interact with them, she chooses to and it's never good enough for them," the post read.
The "Bongos" rapper agreed with the statement, opening up about her unhealthy social media habits.
"I tell myself this all the time ..and I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the ass," she shared.

Fans began to flood the replies with their own takes, with one fan suggesting that the LP is barely done, posting: "She does this to make y'all fight and y'all fall for it everytime, the real tea is the album is nowhere near done and she's blaming fans for her own incompetence."
Cardi B lashed out at the social media user, revealing that "there is no album" and shutting down any speculation that one might be coming soon.
"YEUP ITS NOT DONE CAUSE THERE IS NO ALBUM," she posted. "Congrats you won a prize for your answer ...here's your prize."
The "WAP" creator allegedly called her followers the "worst fanbase ever" in posts that she has not deleted, Herald reports. She states that the pressure to get her recent single "Enough" on trending playlists made her feel like a failure when it did not chart in the top 10.
"Even when I drop music y'all ruin everything..WORST FANBASE EVER..I remember crying to Ken cause I felt like I did something wrong when I dropped 'Enough' cause y'all was complaining it wasn't on Today's Top Hits makin me feel like I always drop the ball just so the song can go top ten without it y'all just love to complain."
The Grammy-winner dropped "Everything (Miami)" earlier this year, following "Like What (Freestyle)." The one-off singles were released after "Bongos," her second collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. The duet led to speculation that the album would be done soon, however the "I Like It" songstress shut down any hope that her LP would drop in 2024.

As she continues to wait on releasing a followup album to 2018's Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B may end up like another rap legend who only released one album: Lauryn Hill.
After the actress and musician dropped her debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - which is largely looked at as one of the greatest records of all time - she never released a second album. As the tolls of being a celebrity took a toll on her, she mostly retired from the industry.
