Zayn Malik has attempted his luck at love again by signing up on a dating app to meet new people, but his experience was cut short after he was accused of catfishing.

The musician, who is set to release a new album later this month, recently spoke in an interview with NYLON, giving fans insight into his previous relationships with Perrie Edwards and Gigi Hadid and his days on Tinder.

Recalling his time on the famous dating app, he said, "Everyone accused me of catfishing... They're like, 'What are you using Zayn Malik's pictures for?' I've been kicked off once or twice."

He then admitted that his attempt to get dates has "not been too successful for him.

Later in the interview, the musician shared details behind his engagement with former Little Mix member Perrie Edwards, saying he didn't know anything then.

"I didn't know anything about anything at that point... I thought I did, because I was 21. I was legally allowed to do everything, but I didn't know s***," he said.

The former One Direction member recalled that he lived a "very chill life" in England when he was growing up, and before amassing fame, he was never in a romantic relationship.

By the time he became famous and got the chance to date people, he did his best.

"When I got the chance to do that, I jumped straight in, two feet first, and was like, 'I'm going to have a girlfriend, and she's going to live with me. This makes me a grown man,'" he said of his dating habit in the past.

After his relationship with Edwards, Malik dated Gigi Hadid until he was 27 years old. They now share a child. Throughout his experience, he said he didn't take much time to focus and get to know himself.

Regarding dating in the present, the "Pillow Talk" hitmaker said he's taking things a lot slower before fully investing in another person as a "lifelong partner."

Giving more details about fatherhood, Malik said he only spends time with his daughter "50% of the time," but if given a chance, he would spend "90%" with her.

The recent news comes after his appearance at the Zach Sang Show, where he reflected on his love life, saying he didn't know if he had "truly been in love" before.
