Keith Urban channeled his inner Arianator as he recently shared a video of himself singing a cover of the pop star's song "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" during one of his shows, and he got the stamp of approval from the singer.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the musician shared a video of himself on stage playing his rendition of the Eternal Sunshine track, which he described as an "audible heroin."

The "bye" hitmaker took to the comment section to express her gratitude to the country star, writing, " This is so beautiful & thank youuuuu !"

Fans also shared their reactions to the song. Some didn't expect Urban to sing a song by Grande, as one wrote: "No way I thought I'd ever see Keith perform an Ariana song. He killed it."

One added, "Keith covering Ari?! I love everything about this. Another one wrote, "Ariana scored another big hit! So happy for her! Keith's cover is gold."

The recent news comes after Keith Urban spoke with People magazine for an interview where he gushed over Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift.

He commended the Tortured Poets Department songstress' songwriting skills, saying it's "extraordinary" and he couldn't think of any adjectives for it.

"She's such a great, great writer. So this new album is just more proof of that in really great ways," he said of Swift, who also has a country music background.

On the other hand, he mentioned then that he was obsessed with Grande's song "We Can't Be Friends," saying he couldn't stop listening to it.

"It's like audible heroin. Literally, I have to have another hit... I play that thing over and over and over," he said.

He noted that he had always liked Grande because she doesn't sound like other artists, similar to Taylor Swift. He added that they are the type of musicians that people easily recognize through their voices.

In other updates about Keith Urban, the singer is set to return to Las Vegas for another round of his residency. Billed as HIGH in Vegas, the musician will perform on October 4 to 12, 2024, and February 12 to 22, 2025.

This wasn't his first time performing in the city; he had already taken the stages of the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2020 and 2021 and the Zappos Theater (no, the Bakkt Theater) in 2022.

More details about his upcoming shows are available on his official website.
