Kelly Clarkson recently became concerned about disappointing her fans after sharing the truth behind her weight loss transformation journey.
According to an insider who spoke to Life and Style magazine, "At first she said she started walking more and got on a healthier diet, which everyone gave her props for, but now she's admitting to taking medication."
They added, "Her fans feel duped because she totally transformed her body and they were rooting for her. They totally trusted her and now they're calling her a liar."
The source noted that although the "Breakaway" singer increased her physical activity and improved her diet, she struggled with being transparent about her efforts to millions of fans.
In her explanation, Clarkson clarified that the medication in question was essential for regulating her blood levels and added that it is not Ozempic, even though she recognizes the importance of disclosing its potential weight-loss effects beforehand.
"Fortunately for [Clarkson], fans love her and will forgive her for almost anything," the insider added.
During the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the former champion of American Idol spilled the beans on her journey to shedding excess weight.
In a conversation with Whoopi Goldberg, who openly discussed relying on the type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro to aid in weight loss, Clarkson revealed that she, too, experienced weight loss with the help of a prescribed medication.
The "Since U Been Gone" singer shared, "Everyone thinks it's Ozempic. It's not. It's something else. But it's something that aids in breaking down the sugar. Obviously, my body doesn't do it right."
She also said that her doctor "chased" her for "two years" to start taking the medication.
"I was like, 'No, I'm afraid of it.' I already have thyroid problems. I was afraid."
As per another insider speaking to Life & Style, Clarkson's weight loss medication is "probably Liraglutide."
The second source said, "She's guarding the brand name because she knows it would cause even more interest and to avoid added attention to her."
Critics wasted no time criticizing Clarkson for the late disclosure of the information.
A social media user said, "I'm not mad that Kelly Clarkson lost weight. Not mad that she took a weight loss drug. I'm mad that she made other women feel inadequate and like failures when 'walking more and eating meat' didn't work for them."
