Adele Endlessly Thinks About Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso' While in Bed

Adele took time from her famous Las Vegas Residency to talk about her newest favorite song, Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso."

In a now-viral moment taken by a fan on Adele's Weekends with Adele at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Adele raved about Carpenter and her current earworm.

"I nearly pissed myself because my whole body clock was out of sync," the Grammy-winning singer started her amusing story. "So being on stage at 11:30, I was desperate for a pee. But I'm always, you know, [going] back to the hotel, in the hotel, whatever, by, sort of like, 11:10 at the latest. And then I have to warm my voice down, then I have a steam shower and things like that."

Adele's fans were always treated with amusing and laughable stories courtesy of the singer's interest and unserious take on things. After detailing her night-time routine, Adele told her current favorite song.

"As I got into bed last night - 'cause that's a very late night for me, normally I'm in bed by 9 p.m. - I found myself singing, 'I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer,' "Adele added, singing Carpenter's "Espresso." "That Sabrina Carpenter song! 'I can't relate to desperation.' That song is my jam!"

Adele said the song came out when she was on vocal rest. "It came out when I couldn't talk or sing, so since my voice has come back, all last night and this morning that's what I've been singing," Adele said of the April 11-released song.

"From tomorrow, it will be like, 'I'm sleeping late 'cause I'm a singer,' because that's what I'm gonna do tomorrow," she said, eliciting a round of applause and laughs from the crowd.

Unbeknownst to Adele, Carpenter performed the hit song on Saturday Night Live, on the same night, where the 25-year-old singer made her debut on the Emmy-winning television sketch show.

Also, it wasn't just Adele who seemed to like Carpenter's new song. Katy Perry also used the same song in one of her TikTok videos.

Perry lip synced to the viral relatable lyric - "I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer - as she went to work as an American Idol judge, holding her own cup of joe. Perry then walked out of her trailer, dressed and glammed for the cameras, holding her iced latte, singing to the rest of the song.

Carpenter's "Espresso" peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, her highest charting single yet on the genre-blending singles chart.
