Ben Affleck is reportedly waking up from his "fever dream" of being married to Jennifer Lopez.
As rumors that they have split up continue to build up, a source has revealed that the actor has "come to his senses" regarding their relationship. Now, after two years of marriage, they are rumored to be headed towards divorce.
The source reveals that Affleck would divorce the "Jenny From the Block" singer "on grounds of temporary insanity" after an apparent lapse in judgment led to the rekindling of their relationship.
"He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he's come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work," the source told Page Six.
Another source says that there was "tension" in their marriage due to their different styles. While Lopez is extremely comfortable with media attention, a source revealed to People that Affleck prefers to stay private. They state that the 54-year-old singer "needs that expression but Affleck simply is not comfortable with it."
"After a while it causes tension in the relationship," the source says. "He is more introspective and private. She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world. This makes them considerably different, and it has been difficult in the day-to-day relationship."
While neither Affleck or Lopez have responded to the media attention surrounding their alleged split, rumors seemed to continue to build up after the pair had not been seen publicly together in several months. Lopez even attended the Met Gala by herself, serving as a co-chair for the event.
After reports have circulated that their marriage - which was advertised as a fairytale love story in Lopez's This Is Me...Now film - is ending, they were seen by paparazzi last week. They attended Affleck's daughter's school play, marking their first time being seen together in over a month.
Over the weekend, Affleck was seen driving without his wedding band, adding fuel to the fire that their union is over. They both have reportedly been exploring real estate options, with Affleck recently spending time in Brentwood, Calif. The location he has reportedly been residing in is close to where his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, currently resides.
One of the biggest signs that the couple might be headed towards divorce is when Lopez recently liked an Instagram post about "Unhealthy Relationships." The post calls out partners who lack integrity, emotional safety, and communication skills, while also not respecting your time.
While many attribute their time apart to a sign that they are breaking up, it also could have been due to scheduling. Since Affleck seems to be based in California, Lopez has been in New Jersey filming her part in the upcoming movie musical adaptation of The Kiss of the Spider Woman.
She is also set to embark on her upcoming greatest hits tour, which launches in Florida later next month. The "Let's Get Loud" hitmaker has reportedly been in intensive rehearsals for the concert run. The Jennifer Lopez: This Is Me...Live tour is set to run through August, with her final performance at Madison Square Garden in New York.
