Post Malone's experimental dip into country music has proved successful. "I Had Some Help," his first official country release, debuts at No. 1 this week on Billboard's Hot 100, the magazine reports.

This comes after Post has courted the country audience at festivals and on TV. He performed a set of country covers -- with such guests as Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and Dwight Yoakam -- last month at the Stagecoach Festival. Wallen debuted the single in his headlining spot at the festival in Indio, Calif. on April 28.

And last week, he appeared on the ACM Awards, performing "I Need Some Help" with Wallen, as well as an a cappella version of the Allman Brothers' "Rambiln' Man" in tribute to late Allman Brothers singer/guitarist Dickie Betts last Thursday (May 16).

"I Had Some Help" is Post Malone's sixth No. 1 -- following his Taylor Swift collab "Fortnight" earlier this month -- while it's Wallen's second chart-topper on the all-genre list.

The track did impressively well on streaming services, with a total of 76.4 million streams in the U.S., according to Luminate. The is the best-streaming single since user-generated YouTube content was removed from the chart totals in 2020. It even tops "Fortnight," Taylor Swift's recent single featuring Post Malone, which was streamed 76.2 million times three weeks ago.

Aside from topping the Hot 100, "I Had Some Help" also bows on top of the Hot Country Songs chart, giving Wallen his eighth No. 1 on that list, with Post Malone scoring his first.

Aside from scoring hits with and without Post Malone, Wallen has been in the news of late for allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar and nearly hitting two police officers below. The Los Angeles Chargers even spoofed the incident in their Sims-inspired video schedule.
