Shakira first appeared at the event through a video message during Grupo Frontera's set at the Besame Mucho Festival in Austin, Texas, earlier this year.

"Hola mi gente de Bésame Mucho, I leave you with my friends from Grupo Frontera and a preview of our next song '(Entre Paréntesis),'" she said in Spanish.

The recent news comes after Shakira spoke with Marie Claire last month, giving fans insight into her life as a single mother and her relationships with men.

She recalled thinking that having a husband was "the most important thing" in her life, that she would have kids with him and make plans like her parents.

However, she later hinted at her breakup with Gerard Piqué, saying, "I've witnessed love;I just haven't been that lucky myself. Monogamy is a utopia."
