Morgan Wallen's bar in Nashville, Tennessee, is nearing completion and is set to welcome customers during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend following the singer's recent legal issues.

In a recent series of photos obtained by The Sun, high above, workers perched on a crane, diligently working on the prominent sign adorning the brick facade. Emblazoned with the name "Morgan Wallen's This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen," the sign hints at the establishment's identity and who it really belongs to.

Access to the building was entirely restricted by barriers surrounding the entrance. Draped across the construction barricades was a massive navy-blue flag, catching the attention of passersby. The announcement heralded the arrival of a rustic-inspired bar that will debut in the summer of 2024, but the exact opening day remains a mystery.

Reports have also emerged that the proposal to install a 20-foot neon sign outside the venue featuring the notorious country singer's name has been decisively rejected.

In a recent decision, Metro Nashville Council's governing body, tasked with authorizing signs on public property, voted overwhelmingly against allowing the placement of a prominent illuminated ad promoting Wallen's latest venture.

According to WSMV, the city council voted 30-3 to reject the proposed installation.

"We want to make sure that Nashville was a supportive place for everyone, so I don't want to see a billboard with the name of a person who's throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs, using the N-word, so I'm voting no," said council member at large Delishia Porterfield.

Council member Jordan Huffman also agreed.

"I rise to oppose this. Number 1 - Mr. Wallen is an East Tennessean - he gives all of us a bad name. His comments are hateful, his comments are harmful, and you don't belong in this town, as far as I'm concerned. I'm tired of this city bending over to just, make anybody happy that makes a comment that they want to. We continue to go down this road. I encourage my colleagues to vote against this."

Acknowledging his concerns, Jacob Kupin from District 19, the resolution's sponsor, openly shared his reservations.

"It struck me that we're putting up a sign with someone's name on it that hasn't been a good actor downtown. I decided to move approval for this because I do support the efforts to move this bar forward...the restaurant group that's managing this facility, TC Restaurant Group, has been really a good partner in everything going on downtown."

In May 2020, Wallen made headlines again due to a run-in with the law. According to The Tennessean, the country singer was taken into custody by Nashville police following an incident at Kid Rock's Big A-- Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse.

Reports indicated that Wallen was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance by allegedly kicking glass items and engaging in verbal altercations with bystanders.

In 2021, he ignited widespread criticism after a video surfaced of him using a derogatory term during a night of revelry with companions. The incident led to numerous radio stations ceasing to broadcast his music.

In a recent incident, Wallen faced legal trouble after being apprehended for tossing a chair from the rooftop of Eric Church's establishment in Nashville, narrowly missing two law enforcement officers. The charges against him include three felonies for endangering others and one misdemeanor for disruptive behavior. His court date is scheduled for August.
