Lana Del Rey once wrote a song for a James Bond movie in the past, but it never came to fruition as film producers rejected the track.

The musician recently attended the Ivor Novello Awards in London, where she spoke to BBC. During the interview, the outlet asked if she would write a title track for a James Bond movie.

Surprisingly, the "Snow on the Beach" hitmaker admitted that she already did, but the people behind the movie franchise turned it down.

Del Rey later sang the chorus of her song "24" from the album Honeymoon, then she added, "I wrote that for them."

If the song had ever made it to the final cut, it would have been the title track of Daniel Craig's fourth James Bond movie, Spectre. However, it was Sam Smith's "Writings on the Wall" that became the film's lead track. The British singer later won the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards in 2016.

"But Sam, you did a wonderful job, really," Del Rey joked, adding that she was only kidding.

The singer later noted that she hopes to write another song for the film franchise, but for now, she would continue doing her "little Nancy Sinatra thing" and pretend it's the title track.

In other updates about the singer, Del Rey took the stage at Billboard's pre-Gramy event in Los Angeles earlier this year, where she revealed that she will release a new LP titled Lasso, which will revolve around the country music genre.

"If you can't already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country," she told the audience.

She added that this is why Jack Antonoff has followed her to different cities, such as Muscle Shoals, Mississippi, and Nashville, for the past four years.

Del Rey's new album will be out in September.

It will follow her latest record, Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which helped her amass several Grammy nominations this year, including the categories of Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album. Her song "A&W" was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance.

In addition, her collaborative track "Candy Necklace" with Jon Batiste gained the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination.
