Metallica is currently on their M72 Tour across Europe, and they performed a song for the first time that fans have yet to witness throughout the run of their series of concerts.

According to Blabbermouth, the legendary band took the stage of the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany, where they played a two-night, no-repeat show supporting their latest album, "72 Seasons."

The Lars Ulrich-led band opened their second night with "Creeping Death" and went on to perform some of their recent songs like "Harvester Of Sorrow," "Hit the Lights," as well as some of their classic songs including "Enter Sandman," "One," and more.

They also performed "Inamorata," which is considered their longest song ever, live for the first time. The track has a total running time of 11 minutes and 10 seconds.

The song was a part of their eleventh studio album, 72 Seasons. It broke the record for Metallica's longest song, as the previous title holder was "Suicide and Redemption" from the record Death Magnetic.

In a track-by-track breakdown video, Hetfield gave insight into the meaning of "Inamorata," saying the song revolves around the concept of having a love affair with misery.

"A long classic song that screamed out to end the album. Really, really cool riffs in it, really great groove. I love the way it rounds this thing out," he said.

In an interview with So What!, the group's fan club magazine, the frontman likened misery to a mistress. He's trying to hide her because he's been enjoying the feeling at certain times, but he didn't want to share it publicly.

"I don't want to introduce her to the world because it's not okay. So misery as a mistress, it does serve a purpose in my life, but I don't want it to be my life, and I'm tired of it running my life," he added.

After performing in Munich, the band will tour other European cities, such as Spain, Denmark, Poland, France, and many more.

They will return to North America for another set of dates starting on August 2. They will perform in cities such as Seattle, Chicago, Edmonton, Foxborough, and more. Their final shows will be in Mexico City in September.

More information about Metallica's upcoming shows is available on their official website.
