Vixen fans were met with sad news today, as singer Lorraine Lewis announced that she would be parting ways with the band after serving as its vocalist for five years.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the musician shared an official statement confirming that she's departing from the group after Vixen took a "different direction."
"Vixen Tribe and devoted fans: The band has taken a different direction, and as much as I will miss you please know that more Rock & Roll from me is on the way!" she wrote.
The singer then reflected on her time with Vixen, saying it was an honor to be their frontwoman since she performed for the first time in 2019, and she's forever grateful for the opportunity given to her.
Lewis later teased fans about potential new releases in the future, writing, "I've had the time of my life and have loved rockin' with ALL of you! I can't wait to rock your faces off again soon cuz trust me babes, I'm not going anywhere!"
As of this writing, Vixen has yet to announce their new frontwoman.
According to Blabbermouth, Lewis joined the band in January 2019 following Janet Gardner's departure. Prior to that, she performed with the group in Oklahoma when the former vocalist was recovering from surgery.
In a previous interview, Gardner gave details about her parting ways with the group, saying many personal things happened , not with the group but in her personal life.
She also added that stress was a factor in her departure, adding, "I was very stressed, and there was some conflicts between, you know, if I was playing a [solo] gig somewhere, then Vixen couldn't play there within a certain amount of time."
Vixen's classic lineup includes Roxy Petrucci, Share Ross, Britt Lightning, and Jan Kuehnemund, who passed away in 2013.
However, Ross announced that she would be taking a break from the band, and that's why she was replaced by Julia Lage, popularly known for being a part of Barre de Saia.
In other updates about Vixen, the group has several shows later this year, with their next one being at the Honda Center Hair Metal Meltdown in Anaheim, CA, on June 21, 2024.
More details about their upcoming shows are available on their official website.
