U2's residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas is the highest grossing tour of the year, thus far, according to a mid-year report from Billboard Boxscore. The mid-year report covers the time between Oct. 1, 2023, to March 30, 2024.
U2's shows have brought in a whopping $231.5 million from 38 concerts of a 40-show run. The first two shows of U2's residency at the Sphere were on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, prior to the chart period's beginning. The 38 shows boasted an attendance of 630,000.
Prices for U2's shows at the Sphere began in the $400 to $500 range, but after quickly selling out, resale tickets ran fans anywhere from $800 to over $2,500. In May 2023, the group extended their residency, citing that there had been more than 1 million ticket requests during their one-location tour.
P!nk came in at No 2., grossing $196 million between 42 shows. Her concerts had the largest number of attendees of the list, a staggering 1.4 million. In 2023, she grossed a total of $232 million.
Latin pop group RBD trails only slightly behind with 1.3 million attendees between their 35 shows. Coldplay and Luis Migel also broke the 1 million attendee mark.
Madonna, who recently played a show in Rio de Janeiro that an estimated 1.5 million people attended, fell into the third spot on the list, grossing $190.6 million.
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra performed the highest number of shows, holding 104 concerts during the six-month period, averaging to 1.75 shows per day.

Peso Pluma rounded out the list of top 50 highest grossing tours, bringing in $22.1 million across10 shows with 206,000 attendees. Other acts on the list include Mariah Carey, Doja Cat, Fall Out Boy and $uicideboy$.
This mid-year list notably does not include the ongoing European leg of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, nor her 26 performances earlier this year in South America, Australia and Asia. The pop star did not report the data to Billboard Boxscore during this time period.
In 2023, the massive Eras Tour was the highest-grossing tour of the year, bringing in over $1 billion - the first in history to do so - with over 4.3 million tickets sold. Swift also earned roughly $200 million between merchandise sales and The Eras Tour movie. The average original ticket price for the tour was nearly $240, but resale tickets ranged from $500 to a whopping $7,000.
Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour took the No. 2 spot, grossing $579 million; the tour's companion film earned another $44.4 million worldwide. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Coldplay and Harry Styles completed the top five, earning a combined $995 million.
Live Nation was deemed the Top Promotor of the midyear chart, grossing $2.8 billion. Live Nation and Ticketmaster are in the midst of a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department, who argue that the ticketing giants violated antitrust laws. AEG, the promoter behind Swift's Eras Tour, took the No. 2 spot.
