Britain's Got Talent's The Dark Hero Cuts Show Mid-Broadcast to Express Ukraine Message During Last Live Semi-finals

The last live semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent descended into chaos when singer The Dark Hero abruptly halted the show mid-broadcast on Friday.

The performer, who belted out Frozen's "Let It Go" while donning a Batman costume, garnered praise from the judges before addressing the camera to express solidarity with his reported home country of Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia.

He stated, "My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine tonight," before the camera swiftly cut back to hosts Ant and Dec, who thanked him as exit music played.

Little is known about this enigmatic figure, but according to a fan-made site, BGT WIKI, he is believed to be of Ukrainian origin and currently resides in London.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the region has been engulfed in brutal warfare, resulting in the deaths of thousands of soldiers and civilians. This conflict marks a level of devastation unseen in Europe since the end of the Second World War, nearly 80 years ago.

Despite impressing the judges, The so-called Dark Hero failed to secure a spot in the final, as comedian Alex Mitchell and magician Trixy clinched the two remaining spots.

When Ant and Dec announced the results, it was primary school teacher Alex who had garnered the most public votes, propelling him straight into the final. Alex, who battles autism and Tourette's, left the judges in stitches with his stand-up routine before expressing gratitude to the BGT platform for providing people like him a stage.

Meanwhile, the last spot in the final was contested between Trixy and Denise and Stefan, a blind couple who showcase their musical talents. In the judges' vote, Bruno chose to save Denise and Stefan, while Alesha opted for Trixy, describing the decision as a "nightmare."

Instead of resorting to a split decision, both Amanda and Simon chose to save Trixy.

The magician astonished the judges with an incredible trick, asking for a series of random numbers that, when added together, resulted in the exact date and time of his performance.

Denise and Stefan bid farewell after stumbling at the final hurdle, visibly emotional as they thanked the judges for the opportunity.

Fans are also rallying for the couple to receive the wildcard, expressing their disappointment on Twitter that they didn't make it through.

After Friday night's final semi-final, the highly anticipated finale of Britain's Got Talent for this year is set to air tomorrow, Sunday, June 2, at 7:30 pm, running until 10:05 pm.

The remaining contestants will deliver their final performances in front of a live audience and the esteemed panel of judges-Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli.

The champion will receive a substantial cash prize of £250,000 and will be granted the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance later this year.
