John Legend expressed his deep dismay over the numerous pending sexual assault lawsuits against his former collaborator Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
The 45-year-old singer addressed the mounting abuse allegations against the embattled rapper, aged 54, and the potential Grand Jury indictment looming over him, denouncing them all as "shameful."
Furthermore, Legend addressed his reaction to the resurfaced and disturbing video capturing Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, aged 37, in a hotel surveillance footage from 2016, condemning Combs' actions.
During an interview with CNN on Thursday, the renowned singer emphasized his default stance to believe women and reiterated the importance of bringing abuse to light when it occurs.
"'I was horrified by the descriptions that I read before the video evidence came out," he said. "And absolutely, it's something that needs to be brought to light when it happens."
He also expressed some regret that someone he has worked with could have did something like this. For him though, he absolutely believes the girl.
"It's quite a shame," Legend said.

"I really just want accountability and hopefully some healing for all of his victims," he added.
"My default stance is to believe women when they make these accusations and to make sure that we do whatever we can to support women [making them]," he further said.
The 12-time Grammy winner expressed his desire for the voices of these women to be heard and for measures of accountability and restitution to be enacted to restore their well-being.
He further emphasized his wish for the best outcomes for Ventura and all other individuals who have come forward with allegations of abuse against Combs.
Following CNN's release of a 2016 surveillance video revealing Combs' physical assault on Ventura, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office deemed the incident "extremely disturbing" but stated it fell outside the statute of limitations for prosecution.
However, the video may serve as evidence in an ongoing federal investigation linked to Combs and accusations of sex trafficking.
According to two sources familiar with the probe, investigators are preparing to present accusers of Combs before a federal grand jury in New York.
This seems to hint that the US Justice Department is progressing towards potentially indicting Combs. Authorities are delving deeper into the civil suits, seeking potential witnesses and evidence against the star, as one of the sources disclosed to CNN.
Additionally, federal investigators are probing allegations of money laundering and involvement in illegal drugs, further broadening the scope of the inquiry.
