Adele scolded an audience member who made a hateful comment at her Las Vegas residency show.
On Saturday, June 1, Adele held another show of her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas, Calif. The day also marked the beginning of Pride Month, and an audience left the singer fuming because of their comment.
In a since-viral video on X, an attendee shouted "Pride sucks!" between songs, causing the "Rolling in the Deep" singer to pause her Caesars Palace's Colosseum performance to respond to the audience member.
"Did you come to my f------- show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f-------- stupid?" Adele scolded the fan. "Don't be so f--------- ridiculous. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?"
The audience cheered Adele on while speaking against the audience member, while others also berated the heckler.
Meanwhile, fans left comments on the viral video to support the "Hello" hitmaker.
"imagine ADELE saying this to you oh i would just disappear," one said, while a second wrote, "I love Adele for this! Why do people love to say cruel things like this? It's so uncalled for and disgusting."
A third wrote, "if adele said this to me i'd never show my face again."
Pride Month, which occurs in June of every year, allows LGBTQ+ communities across the globe to celebrate their freedom and become themselves.
Adele and her representatives have not commented on the incident. Meanwhile, it remains unknown whether the audience member stayed for the rest of the show or was kicked out after making the scene.
On the other hand, the mom-of-one has been vocal about her support for the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, she made her song "I Set Fire Through The Rain" as a gay anthem.
"I get a lot of mail from people who tell me that I make them really happy to be themselves, and really comfortable with who they are, which I love," she told Out Magazine.
In June 2016, she held her concert at Belgium's Sportpaleis and dedicated the show to the victims of the shooting at the LGBTQ+ club Pulse in Orlando, Fla., which left 49 people dead and 53 injured.
One of her June 2023 Las Vegas residency shows also saw her wearing a black gown with a rainbow flag train.
