Cher is siding with her beau, Alexander "AE" Edwards after it was reported that he got into a brawl with rapper Travis Scott at a 2024 Cannes Film Festival afterparty.
In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, Cher expressed her pride in her boyfriend, who is 40 years her junior.
"I'm Proud of Alexander," she tweeted. "He Didn't Start The fight against 2 Men,... He finished it, Gotta Love Him."
Fans were thrilled to see the pop icon sharing her side of the story on social media, which was unlikely for her because of her elusiveness.
"Holy shit she's back Gotta love the two of you! You look so adorably ridiculously happy, I can't help but smile every time I see something on the two of you," a fan responded.
"Cher my icon ily and I love how AE protects u We stand with u and AE," another expressed their support.
"We want you on twitter every day!!! Our Country needs you!!! We need you back in our lives. It brings me JOY when you visit us. Love you and miss you!!" a third user said on the platform.
Reportedly, Edwards and Scott got into a physical brawl in one of the prestigious film festival's afterparties.
In a fan-captured video, it can be seen that several men were swinging at each other in a melee.
According to TMZ, Edwards was involved in the fight along with 808 Mafia producer Southside.
Sources have revealed that Scott "seemed pissed" when he was "lumped in" with Tyga at the time. Notably, the two had both dated model and celebrity Kylie Jenner. Scott reportedly snatched the microphone from Richie Akiva, the host of the party, after he gushed about the two rappers.
Edwards reportedly said a few words to Scott before the latter approached Tyga's security team with threats. Moments later, he returned with Southside - prompting the latter to confront Edwards, who was trying to diffuse the situation.
Eyewitnesses told Entertainment Tonight that Southside had pushed Edwards, prompting him to push back, too. Eventually, the situation escalated rapidly, turning it into one massive brawl.
Security had already intervened, and Scott and Southside left the event. Tyga and Edwards went on to celebrate the rest of the night partying with no reported injuries.
