Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist Emma Jones has died at the age of 32, a statement on her official Facebook page confirmed.
Multiple news outlets cited a February post on Jones' Facebook page, confirming the singer's death in their recent reports.
"I'm sorry to have to tell you that Emma Jones has died. She died on Valentines Day after being diagnosed with multiple organ cancer. The doctor thinks it began as ovarian cancer and spread to other organs. She died peacefully in the cumberland infirmary. Sorely and sadly missed by all who knew her," the post read.
Although Jones died in February, the news about her death has only surfaced recently.
Jones joined BGT in 2015 when she was 23. She immediately caught the judges' hearts when she delivered a jaw-dropping and emotional performance of "Ave Maria," receiving a standing ovation.
Amanda Holden called her audition piece "one of the most beautiful auditions."
"You should be confident, Emma, you have a fantastic voice. Very few of us could sing like that and you should come out and sing like a winner because that's what you are," David Williams said at the time, while Simon Cowell commented, "I really like you. Actually, I'm going to change that - I love you."
Jones successfully made it to the semifinals of BGT.
In a March interview with News & Star, Jones' former partner John Hastings shared how much he will miss the singer's "personality, smile and gorgeous voice" after the "shocking" passing.
During the funeral at Allonby's Christ Church on May 1, Hastings delivered a eulogy in which he recalled meeting Jones while she was busking in Carlisle in 2013.
"Like everyone else in Cumbria, I was both proud and touched by her exploits on Britain's Got Talent, when she overcame her nerves to wow the judges and viewers - the applause made her cry, but I knew these were good tears," he said. "It's a great shame that we will never see her again, but we still have her performances online to cherish and fondly remember her by."
Outside BGT, Jones spent most of her time volunteering at Carlisle's British Heart Foundation. Her friend also updated her fans in 2022 about the musician's decision to join a choir.
