Harry Styles has shocked fans by debuting a new look in Italy.

The singer was allegedly spotted in Rome, sporting what seems to be a brand-new mullet and mustache. In a new photo taken by a fan, the "Adore You" singer can be seen in a pink shirt and aviator sunglasses while walking the streets of Rome.

The look triggered a frenzy of responses from his fans, with many trying to decipher if he is, in fact, growing a mullet based off of the one picture. Some fans denied that he would be taking on the iconic hairstyle and instead suggested that he is "in his mohawk era." A larger debate also began when social media users began to inquire if his shirt said "TOP" or "STOP."

Styles has been spotted in Italy a few times throughout the past week, enjoying a vacation following his recent breakup with Taylor Russell.

Other fans praised the new look, but were left wondering when his vacation will end so he can get back to work on new music, posting: "Face, beard, hair, pink shirt all perfect but where is the album?"

While the mullet is a new look for the 30-year-old, he previously grew a mustache during quarantine, Page Six reports. The facial hair completely divided fans, who frequently take large stances on his physical appearance.

Last year, he was seen at a U2 concert in Las Vegas, where he debuted a new buzzcut. His fans went wild over the fact that he had shaved off his luscious locks. The social media debate even garnered a response from his mother, Anne Twist, who took to Instagram to defend his haircut.

"When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are ... there's an irony in the negativity he's been shown for having a haircut. Sorry but I don't get it," she wrote, ending the post with the Grammy-winner's signature phrase, "TPWK." The slogan stands for "Treat People With Kindness," a song title that is frequently referenced by Styles and his fanbase.

Last week, it was reported by Us Weekly that the "Watermelon Sugar" and Russell are taking a step back in their relationship after one year of dating.

"They're taking some time to reevaluate things and see if this relationship is [one] that they really want to be in for the long run," a source exclusively told the publication in their latest issue.

Styles, who frequently keeps his private life and relationships private, was reportedly ready to get serious with Russell earlier in May.

"They are fairly serious and have traveled together. They do spend time in England," a source told People, claiming that the pair "have the same interests."

It does appear that the door is not fully closed on their romance, with reports stating that they are just taking some time to themselves at the moment.
