While Cher is proud of Alexander "AE" Edwards after his Cannes brawl, but her loved ones reportedly feel otherwise.
On May 23, Edwards and Travis Scott were onstage with Tyga when the brawl happened. Scott threw a microphone down during the clash at Richie Akiva's "The After" party following the 2024 amFAR gala in Cannes. When Edwards tried to calm the situation down, things only got worse.
For Cher's loved ones, the incident only showed the 38-year-old rapper's bad boy side and could reportedly lead to more terrible things in the future.
"Cher's friends and family are convinced she's putting herself in serious danger by hanging around AE and his friends. He rolls with a seriously sketchy crowd, so it's not really a big surprise he's ended up in a brawl. This time it was a fist fight, but what about next time?" a source told In Touch.
Cher's family and friends reportedly think she's "nuts" for taking such risks and constantly defending Edwards. Per the insider, the fight has only become proof that Edwards is not the guy for her.
The "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer, 78, posted a tweet after the brawl, expressing how proud she is of her boyfriend.
"He Didn't Start The fight. Against 2 Men,... He finished it, Gotta Love Him," she posted on X.
Following the fight, TMZ asked Edwards about the incident, and the rapper quoted lyrics from Future and Metro Boomin's track, "GTA."
"Like Future say, 'Whatever I'm with, my b-h with it, too.' My woman, but the lyrics are the lyrics," he told the outlet.

Cher's friends and family have been worried about her new relationship after the romance became public in November 2022. Aside from their 40-year age gap, people around the "Proud Mary" singer were reportedly unsure about Edwards' motives.
"They were already bothered by the age gap and convinced she was being taken for a ride, but now they're scared for her safety. A woman of her age should not be around these sorts of volatile characters," the source claimed. "At this point though she can't be talked out of it and actually seems to be getting a thrill over all of this. Still, her friends aren't going to stop trying to open her eyes to the danger she's in."
Cher and Edwards have collaborated over the past months amid their blooming relationship.
