Britney Spears' ex-husband has landed his next gig.
Sam Asghari, who was married to the "Baby One More Time" singer for nine months following a six year relationship, will be joining the third season of Peacock's popular competition series, The Traitors.
The cast, exclusively revealed on the Today Show this morning, features reality stars from Real Housewives, Survivor, Big Brother, The Biggest Loser, RuPaul's Drag Race, and more.
While Asghari first came onto the scene as an actor in TV and film, he has not been seen in a Hollywood project in over a year. Slim choices in acting roles may have led him to take the spot on the reality series. The Hacks alum is the only non-reality TV star in the cast, along with Zac Efron's brother, Dylan Efron, and King Charles' cousin, Lord Ivar Mountbatten.
Also in the cast is Bob the Drag Queen, a RuPaul's Drag Race winner who recently appeared in Madonna's Celebration Tour, opening the show and serving as an emcee throughout the performance.
While Asghari has certainly caught fire for the way relationship with Spears ended, he may not be the most hated ex on the season. Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval - whose cheating scandal ignited 2023's viral "Scandoval" shocker - will also be taking part in the season.
The cast will also feature Bob Harper (The Biggest Loser), Britney Haynes (Big Brother), Carolyn Wiger (Survivor), Chanel Ayan (The Real Housewives of Dubai), Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset), Ciara Miller (Summer House), Danielle Reyes (Big Brother), Dolores Catania (The Real Housewives of New Jersey), Dorinda Medley (The Real Housewives of New York City), Gabby Windey (The Bachelorette), Jeremy Collins (Survivor), Nikki Garcia (Professional Wrestler), Rob Mariano (Survivor & Deal or No Deal Island), Robyn Dixon (The Real Housewives of Potomac), Tony Vlachos (Survivor), and Wells Adams (Bachelor in Paradise).
Asghari and Spears' divorce was finalized in early May, after he had filed for divorce in August of 2023. Their split was attributed to "irreconcilable differences that have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, making it impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife," People reports.
The "Toxic" hitmaker has recently been making headlines for erratic behavior, recently reportedly involved in a physical altercation with her boyfriend at a California hotel. Asghari allegedly felt badly for the singer after the incident, with a source saying it's "heartbreaking" to him.
"Sam will always have a soft spot for Britney and will always be protective over her," a source close to Asghari exclusively told Us Weekly. "Sam is a helper and was there for her in her hardest times. He hopes she is OK."
Spears allegedly spent time with her other ex, Jason Trawick, during her recent trip to Las Vegas with her brother last week. TMZ says that the pair, who were together from 2009 to 2013, apparently met up by Resorts World in Sin City.
