Ray J credited his private tape with Kim Kardashian as the thing that paved the way for OnlyFans.
Established in 2016, the internet content subscription service website welcomed models and celebrities around the globe and allowed them to share explicit materials with their fans. For Ray J, the creation and success of OnlyFans happened because of his and Kim Kardashian's infamous sex tape.
In his recent interview on "Club Shay Shay" podcast, the "Sexy Can I" singer opened up about the video's impact and how "everything would be different" without it.
"How different would we all be? How different would this whole f------ thing be? How different would the industry be?" said Ray J. "Probably more people would be going to college ... There might not be any OnlyFans and all the things like that. All the opportunities like that. Are we a part of the cure? Are we a part of the disease? I don't f------ know. All I know is I'm just trying to make it right."
During the Wednesday, June 5, interview, Ray J also admitted to feeling embarrassed about the tape especially since now he has kids.

The former couple met when the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum was still working for Ray J's older sister, Brandy. They went on to date while dealing with cheating accusations until they called it quits for good in 2006.
The following year, Vivid Entertainment leaked the notorious sex tape, which was filmed during their 2003 vacation to Cabo San Lucas. This led the KKW Beauty mogul to sue the company.
Over the years, the "One Wish" rapper alleged that Kardashian's mother and manager, Kris Jenner, helped release the video to make her famous. The momager has since denied the claims.

On the other hand, Kardashian revealed in an episode of KUWTK that he used ecstasy once.
"I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape. Like, everything bad would happen," Kardashian said. "Absolutely. Everyone knows it. Like, my jaw was shaking the whole time."
After their breakup, Kardashian dated Nick Lachey before having relationships with Nick Cannon, Reggie Bush, Miles Austin and Kanye West.
