Meghan Trainor welcomed her second child, Barry, last year, but before the baby was even born, she had a miscarriage scare in the middle of an interview with Ryan Seacrest.
The "All About That Bass" hitmaker appeared in an episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals in which she reflected on the time that she thought she miscarried her baby the same day she found out about the good news.
The musician recalled that on the morning before the interview with the American Idol host, she was "stoked, beaming of joy," and she even videotaped her journey upon learning about her positive test.
"I did interviews and they were like, 'How are you?' and I said, 'I'm thriving.' I was so happy," she added.
Right when she was about to be interviewed by Seacrest, she looked down, and she was "gushing blood," adding that she "ruined a chair."
"I go, 'Oh no,' and they're like 'Okay, Ryan Seacrest is on. Go!'" she remembered.
Trainor had no choice but to continue the interview, and she was holding back her tears the whole time. Once their conversation wrapped up, she immediately shut the computer down and told her team, "'I think I'm miscarrying right now.'"
She went to the bathroom and became emotional because she had just found out the news about her baby that morning, and later on, "they're gone."
The singer continued testing, and the stick said she was still pregnant.
"I got a blood test done, and it's like the number is zero if you're not pregnant. My number was 90,000," she added.
After going to the doctor, she found out that she had been carrying baby Barry for much longer than she anticipated. She initially thought her child was only six weeks old, but the doctor told her that she was carrying a 10-week-old baby, which meant that she was already pregnant during her performance on the Jimmy Fallon Show.
Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their second child, Barry Bruce Trainor, on July 1, 2023.
In other updates about the pop singer, Trainor is gearing up for the release of her new album Timeless, which will be available for streaming on June 14, 2024.
In addition, she will embark on her first headlining tour since 2016, which will begin on September 4, 2024, in Cincinnati.
