In a recent conversation on The New York Times' Popcast, Julia Fox reflected on her failed relationship with Kanye West.

She emphasized that regaining complete control over her image significantly impacted her time with West, according to MusicNews.

"You know, it was actually a blessing that he came into my life."

The 34-year-old model actress went on to add, "Because he kind of shook up my team in a way where a lot of the creative control was then given back to me."

"Whereas I feel like for a couple of years there, I would still feel this pressure to pretend to be this Hollywood starlet that I, like, wasn't."

Fox further reflected on discussing her public persona with her team. She expressed feeling frustrated and disappointed when her opinions were not considered.

"I'd get into fights about it and be really upset about it, but then ultimately always concede and just do what they wanted me to do because it was easier than arguing."

"So then after that, West came in and was like, 'Wait a minute, no, f--k that, I'm gonna do what I wanna do.'"

"But then when he left, it was like, 'Well, I'm gonna do what I wanna do,' you know? I kind of felt like, 'Oh my god, the world is my oyster.' I'm my own muse."

Recognizing the newfound opportunities created by West's support, Fox addressed the online chatter surrounding the sudden spotlight on her, pointing out that it may stem from her previous relationship with the controversial rapper.

Fox reportedly kept hearing, "'She's only killing it in fashion because it's Kanye, it's [West].'"

"And I was like, 'No, these are my looks, and I'm putting them together.' So, I felt like that was what I needed to push against, and prove that I'm doing this, and I wasn't doing it before because my team just wanted me to look basic."

However, Fox ended her romance with West upon noticing some "red flags" about him.

They met when they rang the New Year of 2022 on December 31, 2021, but the spark fizzled out after just a few weeks, on February 2022.

According to Fox's now-deleted Instagram post, they called it quits the following month. During an Evening Standard interview, Fox briefly touched on the reasons behind their split.

"I was just going day by day and seeing where it went. It was just like, he still wants to hang out with me today, let's do it. And then real life set in and the lifestyle wasn't sustainable. I couldn't fly away once a week. And I tapped out at the first sign of a red flag."

The Uncut Gems actress expressed that the timing might have influenced her decision to stay longer had it taken place before the arrival of her son Valentino.

She shares Valentino with her former partner, Peter Artemiev. Despite this, she recognized West's "unresolved issues" as a clear red flag.

"It just seems like he had a lot to work on, and I just don't have time for it, or energy. I don't have the bandwidth or emotional capacity for it. I'm proud of myself for that."
