Chappell Roan recently performed at the Governor's Ball in New York City, where she was glammed up from head-to-toe dressing as a drag version of the Lady Liberty. The musician was fully committed to the look as her body was painted with copper green, and she even wore a headpiece.

According to Stereogum, the musician emerged on stage from a literal Big Apple, and she debuted a new song that has yet to be released on streaming platforms.

In addition, she played some of her fan-favorite tracks, including "Good Luck, Babe!" "Red Wine Supernova," "My Kink Is Karma," and more.

In one moment during her festival set, the singer revealed that she received an invitation to perform at the White House, but she turned down the offer.

"This is a response to the White House, who asked me to perform for Pride. We want liberty, justice, and freedom for all. When you do that, that's when I'll come," she said.

The musician didn't give more details about the invitation, and she also never revealed when the event would take place.

Roan was not the first artist to decline an invitation to perform for the US government. Paris Hilton previously revealed that she skipped playing a DJ set in front of President Joe Biden to be with Britney Spears for her wedding to Sam Asghari.

In an episode of her This is Paris podcast last year, the DJ and singer revealed that she was supposed to perform at the Summit of Americas dinner at the Getty Villa in Los Angeles to entertain the president and other world leaders.

"I was actually asked to DJ for the president and all of the other presidents from around the world for the dinner... but this was more important to me," she said.

She gave more details about the incident in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying she was even offered a helicopter so she would not miss her DJ set at the event, but she still refused.

"I'm not going to be the one landing in and out at Britney's wedding in a helicopter. So I had to cancel on the president," she added.

In other updates about Chappell Roan, the musician has upcoming festival appearances later this year, including the Norva on June 11, the Capitol Hill Block Party 2024 on July 19, Lollapalooza Chicago 2024 on August 1, the Outside Lands Festival on August 11, and many more.

More details about her concerts are available on her official website.
