Former President Donald Trump recently expressed skepticism regarding Taylor Swift's political stance, pondering whether her liberalism is genuine or merely performative.
In a forthcoming book titled "Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass," authored by Variety's co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, Trump's remarks shed light on his perceptions of the pop icon.
During the exchange, Trump commented on Swift's physical appearance, remarking, "I think she's beautiful - very beautiful!"
Yet, his focus swiftly shifted to her political ideology.
Trump mused about Swift's liberalism, questioning whether it aligns with her true beliefs or if it's simply a facade.
"I think she's liberal. She probably doesn't like Trump," Trump speculated, hinting at his perception of Swift's political leanings.

However, Trump's curiosity persisted, leading him to inquire further about the authenticity of Swift's liberalism. "But is she liberal, or is that just an act?" he queried Setoodeh, indicating his doubt.
He expressed surprise at the notion of a successful country star embracing liberal views, prompting the interviewer to tell him about Swift's transition from country to pop music in recent years.
To recall however, it is Trump who has been acting allegedly with hate towards the star.
Back in January 2024, with Taylor Swift yet to officially endorse President Joe Biden for reelection, certain factions within MAGA circles from have already geared up for what they term a "holy war" against the pop superstar.
As reported by the Rolling Stone, insiders familiar with the situation reveal that individuals connected to former President Donald Trump's campaign, along with longtime allies in conservative media and outside advisers, have long anticipated Swift's eventual endorsement of Biden, reminiscent of her 2020 backing. Several of these Republicans and conservative media figures have reportedly discussed the matter with Trump himself in recent months.
In response to the prospect of Biden and Swift joining forces against him, Trump has reportedly reacted not with concern but with characteristic confidence.
According to insiders, the former president has asserted to his associates that no amount of celebrity endorsements will sway the outcome in Biden's favor. Privately, Trump has boasted that he enjoys greater popularity and a more devoted fan base than Swift, dismissing any potential threat posed by her support for Biden.
Furthermore, sources close to Trump reveal that he recently expressed incredulity to confidants over not being named Time magazine's 2023 Person of the Year, a distinction awarded to Swift in December.
