Taylor Swift generously contributed to a local food bank after three successful Eras Tour concerts at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh Food Project recently shared the news of Swift's donation on social media.
Before her first concert on Friday, the organization informed fans that the "Guilty As Sin" singer would support food banks throughout the city with her contribution.
"As fans gathered at @MurrayfieldStad on Friday for the first of three record-breaking gigs, we found out that @taylorswift13 would be making a donation to support foodbanks across the city. Thank you so much Taylor."
The charity has not disclosed the specific sum of Swift's donation, however, the organization has expressed gratitude for this generous contribution's significant impact on the individuals under its care.
This comes after reports that the city was forced to evict homeless people in the area in preparation for Swift's concerts in Edinburgh.
According to Sky News, several homeless individuals were reportedly at risk of being relocated outside the city to accommodate the influx of tourists. Collaborating with the affected individuals, the City of Edinburgh Council was seeking alternate housing solutions to address this situation.
In response to the urgent housing crisis, the municipal government had reportedly found it necessary to utilize tourist lodging to shelter individuals experiencing homelessness. Due to its limited availability throughout the year, especially during peak tourist seasons like summer holidays, the option was to utilize sparingly and temporarily, with reservations made every week as a last resort.
Despite the situation, the Director of Shelter Scotland, Alison Watson, does not point fingers at Swift. In her remarks to TMZ, Watson emphasizes that the nation's capital should be capable of accommodating a big event without significantly affecting the city's homeless community.
Rather than taking responsibility, Watson claims the blame is directed towards the "years of neglect in funding social housing."
Shelter Scotland was reportedly deeply dismayed by this turn of events, fearing it may establish an unfavorable precedent for the upcoming Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Watson had previously said in a statement, "A family going through the trauma of homelessness in Edinburgh should not have to move miles from their job, school, and community to find emergency accommodation."
She went on to say, "At a time when the City of Edinburgh Council has declared a housing emergency and the Scottish Housing Regulator says the city's homelessness services are experiencing systemic failure, we need a different response from the Scottish Government."
