Sexyy Red Attempts to Wrestle at Airport Brawl in New Jersey Before Getting Arrested: Report

The "SkeeYee" rapper had been arrested for a minor offense as she was part of a huge airport brawl that took place in the New Jersey airport.

TMZ reported that rapper Sexyy Red was arrested at the Newark Liberty International Airport on June 8, 2024.

Red was cuffed and booked on Saturday, June 8, 2024, where her actions were caught in surveillance footage obtained by the outlet. The other people involved in the huge brawl were charged with assault, while the victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their minor injuries.

In the now-viral video, Red can be seen trying to hit someone with a stanchion pole. However, she was shoved by someone, prompting her to fall. As she tried to get into the dogpile, she was whisked away by what is presumed to be one of her associates away from the brawl.

Airport security had already tried to intervene in the melee, but at one point, everyone started pushing again, and Red hurried to the opposing group. As the fight came to a close, Red moved past everyone as she exited the frame.

According to the outlet, the Port Authority has yet to determine the cause of the physical altercation. Red's team has been reached for a comment about the matter but has yet to respond to the outlet's inquiry.

Radar Online revealed that at least one source has revealed that the altercation was allegedly caused by "someone taking an unauthorized photo of the "Rich Baby Daddy" rapper.

Ironically, Red was on her way to a real wrestling match in Nevada. She was booked to host WWE's NXT Battleground at UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

However, she seemed to have already addressed the situation over the weekend. In a video on her Instagram Stories, Red says she "got out" already. In a follow-up Instagram Story, she then asked people in the altercation to direct message her so that she could replace the broken phones during the melee, signaling her good faith amid the arrest.

Sexyy Red was a performer at the recently-concluded Governor's Ball at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York City last weekend, where she performed alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and more.
