Billie Eilish opened up about herself and her emotions when falling in love with Lana Del Rey in a conversation for Interview magazine.

Talking about her new song "CHIHIRO," Del Rey asked the Oscar-winner whether it is "more dangerous" for Eilish to fall in love with her or for her to fall in love.

Surprised by Del Rey's question, Eilish stalled for a while before confessing that it was "50-50" for her.

"I literally hate who I am so much when I'm in love," Eilish admitted. "I really don't like being - I was going to say out of control, but there's ways that I do like being out of control. I have a power issue and a control issue, and I also don't like being vulnerable in a romantic way."

Del Rey pounded with further questions, even asking her if she could get "hurt" as she looked great at hiding it on the outside.

"I would rather suffer in silence than tell you something's bothering me and have you think I'm sensitive," Eilish confessed. According to her, she might come off as a person who "doesn't care," but it's the opposite.

"I care about people and I have love and passion, but in relationships, I found myself never ever expressing any of my needs," the "What Was I Made For?" singer added. "It was interesting to notice I was doing that, and that's what these lyrics are about. It's almost like I resent myself for not advocating for myself, because maybe if I had, things would've changed. But I've always had an issue with weakness."

Eilish released HIT ME HARD AND SOFT in May 2024, debuting at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Many have speculated that the album was written to chronicle her heartbreak and pain after her breakup with The Neighborhood frontman Jesse Rutherford.

However, Eilish clarified that she has no bad blood with Rutherford.

In a Rolling Stone interview, Eilish confirmed she's on good terms with her ex-boyfriend, Rutherford.

"That's my guy, truly one of my favorite people in the world," she revealed. "I plan on never dating again," she quipped before retracting. "That's not true, obviously. But no, I don't see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now."

To recall, however, Page Six has reported that Eilish and Rutherford "amicably split," so their friendship to this date is also not that surprising.
