Dennis Lyxzen, popularly known for being Refused's vocalist, has shared a shocking announcement on social media, confirming that he suffered from a health condition and had no choice but to cancel his band's upcoming shows.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the singer shared a photo of himself lying on a hospital bed with several tubes attached to his body. He appeared in good spirits, smiled at the camera, and held a peace sign.

In the caption, he revealed that he had a "massive heart attack" in his hotel room, and it was "extremely painful" and "wildly scary."

"Thanks the the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Uppsala hospital I'm still around to fight another day.

Under the circumstances, I feel ok. Sore and tired and really shook up," he added.

The musician shared another bad news to his fans, saying he had to cancel Refused's upcoming concerts as doctors advised him to recover for a few weeks.

The band was set to perform at the Resandal Garden Party but had to cancel their appearance due to Lyxzen's health condition.

"A complete bummer as I was really looking forward to it. But hopefully I/we will be able to make up to you soon," he added.

There is a ray of hope for the rock musician as he noted that he can get back to his usual self with the help of medication, and he's hoping that it will be sooner rather than later.

"Life is weird and precious. Take care of each and tell your loved ones that you love them," he concluded.

The comment section was filled with love, support, and positive messages from fans, with one writing, "Whoa! I'm so glad you made it through! And I hope you have a quick recovery, but take your time! Be safe and rest up, my friend."

"My man... Speedy recovery... Grateful you are still here with us all to continue to be an inspiration to many!" one added.

As of this writing, Refused doesn't have upcoming shows, but members Lyxzen, Magnus Flagg, and David Sandstrom launched a jazz group called Backengrillen as a side project last year.

"There's some familiar faces like me on vocals, David on drums and Magnus on bass. You know, most of Refused. Joining us is Mats Gustafsson free jazz genius on saxophone and flute and noise. It's wild and improvised and tons of fun," the singer said last year.
