Scammers have set their sights on the $1.2 million property in their efforts to sell Britney Spears' childhood home. Despite being on the market for some time now, finding a buyer for this iconic piece of music history has been challenging.
Initially listed in October, various individuals have considered transforming the property into a contemporary version of Graceland.
This property holds sentimental value for Spears, who made it her home in the early 1980s when she was only three. Situated in the quaint town of Kentwood, Louisiana, just a short drive from the Mississippi border, Spears lived her formative years in this one-story house, which remained a cherished family residence until 2021, when her father, Jamie Spears, sold it for $289,000.
According to the real estate agent Yvonne Hulsey who spoke to The Sun, individuals posing as scammers have attempted to acquire the historic estate.
"I've had a lot of activity, but I haven't had a solid buyer yet. A lot of scammers, but I don't have anything locked in yet."
"There are people that are interested in turning it into a bed and breakfast or a museum. You know, being an iconic property, there's been a lot of interest. I just don't have anything solid."
The outlet also gained access to never-before-seen pictures that reveal the unchanged state of the childhood home of the "Baby One More Time" singer. The home's preserved antique charm reflects the era when Spears lived there.
The home has a spacious living area measuring 2,200 square feet, three bedrooms, and three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms, thought to have been occupied by Spears in her earlier years, maintains its charm with remnants of NSYNC stickers and other nostalgic '90s pop decorations.

Upon stepping into the residence, one can admire the original artwork created by the Grammy award-winning artist in her younger years. Among them is a charming drawing depicting a house surrounded by blooming flowers and majestic mountains in the distance, as well as a heartfelt portrait bearing the message, "Jesus cares for me!"
Husley told the outlet that the property is being sold with all furnishings intact, many of which hold sentimental value from Spears' childhood days.
"There's writing on the concrete when the sidewalks were poured. There's graffiti on one of the closet doors where it says, 'Christina [Aguilera] sucks, and Britney rocks.' They were rivals, I guess when they were little, and I think they're pretty good friends now."
In 2021, during the sale of the house, Hulsey, the selling agent, noted that Jamie had left behind various items. Hulsey mentioned that he left several belongings with historical significance to the childhood home upon vacating the property.
"Chairs, sofas, end tables, knickknacks, things of that sort, nothing really personal to Britney, but I guess to the family."
Since the early days of Spears' dancing journey, the dance studio where she honed her craft has remained frozen.
"It's remarkable how the dance studio has been preserved - the mirrors, the floor, everything exactly as [Spears] left it," shared Hulsey.
Despite the ongoing efforts to maintain the Spears family's belongings in impeccable condition, finding a suitable buyer for the property has proven challenging, with the home being on the market for over eight months.
