David and Victoria Beckham were once considered among the most influential couples in the entertainment industry, but one journalist alleged that their spark has gone and that their relationship is now all business.
According to a new book, The House of Beckham, written by former BBC journalist Tom Bower, the couple, who has been married since 1999, started engaging in a "media war" after their romance went through hurdles when rumors surrounding David's affair with Rebecca Loos circulated.
"Reflecting the acrimony between the Beckhams, the two publicists began to compete rather than collaborate to promote their own client," the journalist wrote in a line from his book, as reported by The Herald Sun.
He alleged that the power couple fed negative stories about each other to their favorite tabloid journalists, adding that their crumpling relationship from the battle in the press was like a "nuclear bomb."
The writer further claimed in his book that the once happy couple who have a genuine romance has now fizzled into a "distant business relationship."
The fight between the two continued in 2016 when Victoria was busy working her fashion line and tending to her children while David was working in Miami.

"During London Fashion Week that year, she asked Beckham to return to London for a dinner... By the end of the celebration, she must have wished he had stayed in America," adding that some sources claimed the couple had been involved in a verbal fight.
In another incident that happened in Glastonbury in 2017, the journalist claimed that the soccer player and his entourage partied with models until 5 a.m. When the Spice Girls member arrived the following day, she immediately headed to the VIP zone because she was mad because her husband wasn't replying to any of her messages or phone calls.
"Eventually, David appeared. Within seconds, they were embroiled in a ferocious argument."
Even though the couple, who shares four children named Brooklyn, Cruz, Romeo, and Harper, faced many issues surrounding their relationship, they decided to continue portraying the "illusion of a happy family" to the public.
As of this writing, neither of the couple has spoken about the allegations about their romance.
Tom Bower's new book will be published on June 20, 2024.
