Recently, Usher confessed what he does to keep his body and physique in top condition.

According to him, he drinks hot celery juice with a concoction of lemon, ginger, water, and cayenne peppers when he wakes up.

"I try to wake up early enough to have a moment of reflection. Some days I may grab a book and read to stimulate my mind. I may sit quietly and meditate. One thing that is a frequent practice is yoga. It really does help to activate my organs and get my mind moving in the right direction," the singer revealed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal

For his first meal of the day, Usher eats scrambled eggs with cheese, or, at times, he would've wanted them poached or over-easy. But sometimes, breakfast is conditional for the Grammy-winning singer, especially if he has already worked out or done something physical.

Usher also added that he sits under the sun to increase his body's natural heat levels. Perhaps the most shocking thing he does is fast for 24 hours every Wednesday, a practice his grandmother had previously done.

"I fast on Wednesdays. I typically try to start around 11 p.m. the previous day, then go the entire day on Wednesday just drinking water," he admitted.

As for exercises, Usher either walks or does some knee activations.

"I've had minor surgeries on my knee, I had a torn meniscus. Other than that, swimming is a really good thing to get me going and bike riding. Weight lifting, don't do a lot of that," Usher furthered.

However, experts have slammed Usher's surprising diet and regimen on The Daily Mail, calling it "harmful." They described Usher's habits as "unnecessary" because they could lead to dangerous malnutrition due to the lack of vital nutrients like carbohydrates and fiber.

Experts also described sitting out in the heat could promote dangerous levels of sun exposure, which could increase his risk for skin cancer.

Dietitian Carolyn Williams spoke to the outlet and noted that while doing 24-hour fasts is "not so alarming," his workout routine could raise the risk of adverse effects.

"Where I have concerns is if he was doing extensive training for the Super Bowl,' she said. 'If you're going to fast for 24 hours, you need to go easy on the physical activity," she explained. "Fasting all day with just water and still trying to keep up this workout schedule and everything, that's not what is generally recommended. When you're working out like he does, you need more to fuel your body."
