Superstar Missy Elliott has revealed that she possesses an incredible six unreleased albums. It's safe to say that in her supposed hiatus of 19 years she has continuously made music without releasing them.

The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and producer, aged 52, recently discussed her upcoming world tour and hinted at the prospect of new music, which would mark her first album release in 19 years.

Drawing a parallel to the late pop icon Prince, known for his extensive catalog of unreleased work, Missy Elliott told Variety magazine, "Can you imagine, someone like Prince answering that? As a writer and producer, I'm recording music all of the time. So I probably have at least six albums worth of music at this point."

She added, "Timbaland is always saying to me, 'What are you waiting for? I be like, I don't know. I believe there'll be a day when you just look online and see an album date from me. So yeah, I think that'll happen sooner than later."

Missy Elliott recently caused a stir online with a space-themed promotional video announcing her upcoming "Out of This World" tour across her social media platforms.

Her highly anticipated 24-city North American tour will feature her longtime friends and collaborators R&B star Ciara, aged 38, and rap icon Busta Rhymes, aged 51, alongside special guest and co-producer Timbaland, aged 52.

The tour is set to commence this summer starting at Vancouver's renowned Rogers Arena in July and concluding at Chicago's Allstate Arena in August. Surprisingly, despite her illustrious career, Missy Elliott has never before headlined a solo tour.

In fact, the last time she regularly toured was on the Verizon Ladies First tour back in 2004, alongside Beyoncé, 42, Alicia Keys, 43, and Tamia, 49.

The multi-talented star hasn't released a solo album since 2005's The Cookbook, which will make her upcoming album her 7th release.

While her album releases since "The Cookbook" have been sporadic, Missy has consistently put out singles as a featured artist.

As People magazine puts it, Missy Elliott is still going strong and working tirelessly.

"I'm hanging in there," the hip-hop icon, 52, shares with the outlet in this week's issue, reflecting on a long rehearsal for her upcoming tour. "It's full days, and when I get home, the work continues. But I feel good," she adds. "I'm super excited."
