Andrew McMahon recently discussed the band's reunion and the possibility of a new album.

In a recent interview with People magazine, McMahon reflected on Something Corporate's rise during the pop-punk heyday of the early 2000s, when they became favorites on the Warped Tour.

Despite releasing just two studio albums (or three, including their indie debut) and two EPs before going on hiatus in 2006, occasional rare reunions and a greatest hits collaboration kept the band's legacy alive over the years.

Comprising vocalist/pianist Andrew McMahon, guitarist Josh Partington, bassist Kevin "Clutch" Page, drummer Brian Ireland, and guitarist William Tell, Something Corporate remained largely inactive until their reunion for the We Were Young event in Las Vegas in October 2023.

This reunion spurred the band to embark on their current Out of Office tour and release their first new single in two decades, the indie-rock-infused "Death Grip," which premiered exclusively on People magazine along with its music video.

During the interview, McMahon delved into the creation of "Death Grip" and revealed his desire to collaborate with Olivia Rodrigo.

When asked if there was anyone he would love to collaborate with as a solo artist or with Something Corporate at this stage in his career, McMahon quickly answered that it would be the "Driver's License" singer.

"Honestly, my favorite artist right now - which may or may not sound like me - but I'm obsessed with Olivia Rodrigo. It would be a dream. Female pop stars that both myself and my daughter love are high on my list, including Olivia and Hayley [Williams]. Sylvan Esso has long been one of my favorite acts that are out right now. And then there are legends like the ones I grew up with - Sheryl Crow, Neil Young, Billy Joel," he said.

McMahon then addressed the possibility of a new album finally being on the way.

He responded, "Look, I never say never because, well, I shouldn't say I never, because I have said, 'I never expected that Something Corporate would get back in the studio.' There's definitely another Something Corporate-Wilderness collaboration that will come out at some point in the next couple of months, where we're going to invert things. It'll be Something Corporate featuring and reversing the other way around in some ways, even more tied to Something Corporate's aesthetic, both lyrically and musically. But look, I won't count anything out."

Meanwhile, it is clear that Lauren Conrad was eagerly anticipating the reunion of her husband William Tell's band, Something Corporate, after more than 20 years.

The band recently teased a new track titled "Death Grip" on Instagram, and Lauren enthusiastically shared the video on her Instagram Story.

The group, which includes William, Andrew McMahon, Josh Partington, Kevin Page, and Brian Ireland, originally performed together from 1998 to 2005 before taking an indefinite hiatus.

Despite sporadic reunions for live performances over the years, "Death Grip" represents their first new song in two decades. In celebration of the release, the band will kick off a tour in Brooklyn on June 20.
