Sean 'Diddy' Combs erased his entire Instagram page earlier on Thursday amidst ongoing legal troubles and sexual assault lawsuits.
The 54-year-old rapper removed all photos and videos from his account, including a video apology to Cassie that was shared last month in May. This prompts many to speculate that he regretted his social media actions in the past months, particularly when he addressed the assault video.
However, sources informed TMZ on Friday that this action was not "strategic" and not intended as a jab at his ex, Cassie. According to insiders, Diddy decided to clear his page simply to 'reset' his posts, a practice he has done before.
As for the apology video, the sources clarified that even though it was deleted from his account, it is still available online after it is uploaded.
Additionally, the sources informed TMZ that Diddy's apology video was sincere after the Cassie assault tape was made public last month in May.
With 19.9 million followers as of right now, Combs's social media following has significantly decreased from 45.6 million in April. Shortly after receiving Father's Day tributes from his children on Instagram last weekend, Diddy decided to remove all of the postings.
The record producer, who recently returned his ceremonial key to New York City at Mayor Eric Adams' request, chose not to post on social media, but most of his children shared messages to their father.
His son Justin, 30, whom he shares with Misa Hylton, used his Instagram stories to share throwback photos of himself with the "Coming Home" rapper.
His daughter Chance, 18, whom he shares with Sarah Chapman, also took to her own Instagram stories. She shared a black and white photo of herself lounging with her dad on a boat, accompanied by the caption, "Happy Father's Day! I love you endlessly."
His twins, Jessie and D'Lila, posted on their joint account, sharing a throwback picture posing with Diddy and their siblings. They wrote, "Happy Father's Day to the best dad in the worldddddddd. We love u so much."
This eyebrow-raising social media move comes after an ex-bodyguard, Roger Bonds, revealed all that he knows about Diddy in a series of interview videos with VladTV.
For instance, in Part 20 of the interview, Bonds recalls contacting Cassie's close friend Kerry Morgan after discovering he was mentioned in the lawsuit filed by the singer against Diddy. According to Bonds, Morgan informed him during that time that she hadn't been in touch with Cassie since 2018.
Morgan alleged that Diddy had thrown a wooden hanger at her, resulting in a concussion, and claimed that Cassie did not support her during that incident. As a result, Morgan explained that she had ceased communication with Cassie entirely.
Bonds explains that in the lawsuit, Cassie alleges Diddy physically assaulted one of her friends and paid $50K to silence her. After talking with Morgan, Bonds deduced that she must be the friend referenced in the lawsuit since it's a wonder why she did not speak up about the concussion incident.
