Every year, the Glastonbury Music Festival has special guests that are not announced prior to the event's date. More recently, fans have been speculating which music acts will perform as a surprise, and many believe it's an act that they have been waiting for a long time.
According to the Daily Mirror, festivalgoers are excited about this year's massive event. Some of the musicians they theorize could potentially perform at the festival are Pulp, the Killers, Kings of Leon, and even Harry Styles.
However, many believe that it could be the legendary group Kasabian, which has been popular among fans since the 1990s. The band consists of Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter.
"Glastonbury has one 'TBA' slot, but it is the exact same stage and same time that Må played last year, so unlikely. The rumour is that it is Kasabian," one wrote.
"The countdown to Glastonbury is truly on! There are lots of rumours about secret sets, including Kasabian and Michael Bibi. Who are you hoping to see?" another wrote.
If the rumors were true, this wouldn't be Kasabian's first time taking the Glastonbury stage, as they performed in 2014.
The outlet noted that the band will go on tour in July, but it is possible that they will perform at the event as a warm-up before they embark on their series of concerts.
Over the past years, the Glastonbury Music Festival has featured many surprise performers, including Lady Gaga, Franz Ferdinand, and the Killers.
In other updates about the event, the music festival will feature major headliners for this year, including Coldplay, SZA, Shania Twain, and Dua Lipa.
Other performers include LCD Sound System, Disclosure, Idles, the Nationa, Jessie Were, Black Pumas, NIA Archives, Jamie xx, Romy, Fontaines D.C., Peggy Gou, London Grammar, Faithless, Flowerovlove, and many more.
The event will occur at the Worthy Farm in Pilton from June 26 to 30, 2024.
Last year, the Glastonbury Festival opened its ticket sales without announcing any performers, and it immediately sold out 57 minutes later.
"Our thanks to everyone who bought one and we're sorry to those of you who missed out, on a morning when demand greatly exceeded supply," they wrote on X at the time.
