Celine Dion was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, and ever since she struggled with the medical condition, it was reported that the musician has opted to choose the people whom she talks to and even had no interest in going on dates with men.
According to a source who spoke with The U.S. Sun, the "That's the Way It Is hitmaker has "barely socialized" with other people aside from those who are in her inner circle.
She also has no "interest in relationships. Family and health take up most of her time, followed by her comeback plans."
It appears that the musician is content with the love she's been receiving from her family, as the insider added, "She is happy being surrounded by her kids. René was her everything. Another man would need to be a Superman in her eyes to even stand a chance of a date."
In other updates about the musician's condition, the source said the singer has faced many challenges. Still, despite the negativity surrounding her life, she continued to be strong and has never given up.
One of the main reasons why she's determined to fight her illness is because of her children. As the insider noted, "She made a vow that she would never let her sons not have a parent around, especially after the loss of René hit them so so hard," referring to her late husband.
It was discussed that Dion's priority has always been being a mother to her kids, while her career as a singer comes second.
After her diagnosis, the "My Heart Will Go On" singer was warned about the treatment's side effects as it could heavily affect her physical abilities, but regardless, the source said she has "powered through" it, and she tried many therapies to recover fully.
Celine Dion was previously married to musician and manager Rene Angelil. They first met when the songstress auditioned for him when she was 12.
By 1987, Dion was already 19, and they had started dating. They initially kept their romance from the public due to their 26-year age gap, and the singer was afraid of what people would think. They got married in 1994 and eventually had children.
Unfortunately, Angelil passed away in January 2016 following a battle with cancer.
