Ariana Grande sparked criticism after making a comment about Jeffrey Dahmer.

Social media users flocked to X and Reddit to weigh in on Grande's comments about wanting to have a dinner date with the serial killer.

The "7 rings" singer commented on the past statement she made during her appearance on "Popcrushed," telling Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari the revelation she made during a Q&A with young fans years ago.

"I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger," Grande admitted, later adding, "And I was like, 'Oh, honey, you're so cute. Um, mom and dad, is it OK if I give the real answer?' And they were like, 'Sure, what's the answer?' I was like, 'Jeffrey Dahmer's pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions.' The parents were like, 'We'll explain it later, sweetheart.'"

In response to Grande's comment, the public slammed the singer and called her tone-deaf.

One said, "Ariana Grande just proved even more why I don't really care for her weird a--. What you mean you would've dated Jeffrey Dahmer???"

"soooo we're just gonna ignore ariana grande choosing jeffrey dahmer as her dream dinner guest," a second wrote, while a Reddit user added, "I genuinely do not understand what she was going for here, the families of his victims are still very much alive and have said they hate that people glorify him and make shows about him and forget the victims. She thinks she's being edgy but she is just a tone deaf person who doesn't care about other people's pain."

Social media users condemned Grande for her "vile" and "horribly offensive" statements, though some still defended her.

Grande has yet to respond to the backlash, but it came years after Ryan Murphy released Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story on Netflix which delved into the infamous serial killer's killings and crimes decades ago.

Before Dahmer's arrest in 1991, he murdered 17 boys. He committed his first killing in 1978, weeks after graduating from high school.

He was charged with four counts of first-degree intentional homicide and 11 murder charges after his arrest, though he initially pleaded "innocent and innocent by reason of mental disease" before changing it to "guilty but insane."

He died on November 28, 1994, after another inmate bludgeoned him to death with a metal bar.
