Since Billie Eilish's journey to success, her older brother Finneas O'Connell has been a constant presence that provided personal and professional support at her every step.

O'Connell played a major role as her co-writer and producer on all her musical endeavors, contributing to her success in the industry.

In a 2020 interview with The Washington Post, O'Connell expressed his preference for prioritizing collaborations with his sister over focusing on his solo career, stating that he wouldn't have it any other way.

He said to the publication, "In the alternate reality where I wasn't involved at all, and I'd been like, just, sweating my way through, trying to have a music career for years? And then my sibling had one, and I wasn't involved at all? I think I'd be very tortured by it. But the fact that we've had one in tandem makes a lot of sense."

With her older sibling playing a crucial role in her rise to fame through collaboration and performance, Eilish and O'Connell have clinched eight Grammy Awards.

The "Only A Life Time" singer-songwriter has also been honored with two additional trophies for his exceptional work as a producer on Eilish's album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

However, it seems like Eilish's big brother has other plans.

Sources have revealed to Life & Style magazine that the "Nobody Like U" singer is steadily making headway towards realizing his ambitions in Hollywood's movie and TV industry.

This independent pursuit is reportedly stirring up worry for the pop sensation as O'Connell ventures into new territories and pursues his endeavors, leaving her to manage challenges solo.

According to an insider who spoke to the outlet, "[O'Connell] isn't getting into movies and TV out of nowhere - this has been a dream of his for a while and explains why he and [Eilish] have done so much movie soundtrack work on top of their original recordings together.

"[O'Connell] is the one between the two of them who is absolutely wild about movies and TV and loves working directly with filmmakers."

The 26-years-old musician, who has won two Academy Awards, was revealed to have signed on to star in the upcoming comedy series Laid on the Peacock.

According to the insider, O'Connell envisions expanding his career to include writing, producing, and directing.

"This wasn't an out-of-nowhere thing for [Eilish]. She knew this was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier and the idea of touring without [O'Connell], or God forbid recording without him, is something she knows she has to come to terms with eventually, especially if he finds real success with his TV and film interests."

The source added, "The process has started, and [Eilish] has to adjust and make sure [O'Connell] realizing his dreams doesn't turn her world completely upside down. It's easier said than done for somebody as sensitive as [Eilish], that's for sure!"
