Gunna revealed to Spotify's Rap Caviar that he's still signed to Young Thug's YSL Records amid their rumored fallout and his recent release from jail.
"I'm still signed to YSL," he told Spotify. "I'm still providing. We still pushing. No paperwork has been changed. So it's like, whatever's been getting and how we've been pushing this s-t, it's still going."
Gunna's statements came after confusion arose and speculations intensified about his current ties to YSL Records, the same record label that Atlanta prosecutors have alleged to be a criminal gang operating in the city.
Young Thug and Gunna turned themselves over to police in May 2022 after being served with a sweeping indictment for allegedly conspiring to violate the RICO Act in Georgia.
After taking an Alford plea deal, Gunna's name was put in a bad light. He pleaded guilty to the punishment of the crimes charged to him but has maintained innocence of the charges. He also claimed that he had never snitched on Young Thug or any other associates. However, many people in the community have refused to believe his pronouncements.
Gunna's lawyers said the rapper did not snitch on Young Thug. The clarification came about again when an Okplayer article was published, interviewing law experts about Gunna taking a plea deal. The report painstakingly illuminates the most-asked questions on Gunna's case.
However, because of the misconception about taking a plea deal in black communities, the notion of Gunna's case has resulted in fans and rappers calling him a "snitch."
Aside from this, the article also elaborated that Gunna could testify on Young Thug's trial but could still plead the fifth if he wanted to, also highlighting that Gunna's plea deal doesn't mean the case against Thugger would strengthen, as Gunna's case was a different one.
Speaking to XXL magazine, Gunna believed that the public had been "misled" about the whole situation. Many allege that he has "snitched" Young Thug by taking a plea deal.
"It's the same. It's love, always. Our relationship is our relationship," he assured.
The interviewer even asked about the likes of Lil Durk, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby, who has since thrown shots at him for throwing shots at Gunna for allegedly snitching Thugger.
"None of those rappers, they're not on the case. They don't know legally what's going on," he revealed, saying that he has spoken to them, even describing that he's "peacefully" on good terms with them. "I talked to like, maybe like, two or three of those guys. I talked to them on the phone."
