Jamie Foxx has finally opened up his hospitalization that occurred on April 11, 2023.

The actor-singer faced a health complication while filming Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz for a Netflix movie.

A clip captured Foxx conversing with a crowd at a dining establishment in Phoenix.

During the interaction, he shared a surprising anecdote about taking Advil for a headache, only to wake up 20 days later with no memory of the intervening time.

"Look, April 11 last year, bad headache and asked my boy for an Advil [clicks fingers], I was gone for 20 days. I don't remember anything," The "Real In Rio" singer said. "I'm in Atlanta, they told me - my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor.

"The next doctor said, 'There's something going on up there,'" he continued, pointing to his head. "I won't say it on camera ... but it was..."

The circumstances surrounding Foxx's hospitalization remain shrouded in mystery during that time.

His daughter Corrine said in a now-deleted post in April 2023, "We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday."

Per EW, Corrine further said, "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

In the following weeks, obtaining verified updates became a challenge. Still, close friends, such as Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart, shared fragments of information that hinted at possible developments.

In early May 2023, FOX Entertainment revealed that Foxx would not be part of the upcoming season of the popular Fox program "Beat Shazam."

The same month, as speculations swirled due to a dearth of details, Corrine took it upon herself to clarify matters by sharing an extensive update on her Instagram account.

"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild.. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!" she reportedly said, per People magazine.

In a heartwarming moment on July 2023, Foxx made a public appearance following a medical incident, joyfully greeting fans as he waved from a boat cruising along the Chicago River.

He also shared a heartfelt video expressing gratitude to his supporters. In the video, the "Hot Wings" singer revealed a moment of doubt, during which he questioned his ability to persevere.

Foxx acknowledged the importance of his family in safeguarding his personal space and clarified misconceptions by affirming that he was neither visually impaired nor physically immobilized.

In August 2023, the actor shared a new update to his followers. Posting on Instagram alongside an image of himself sporting a white t-shirt, the 56-year-old expressed his relief at finally being able to "see the light" following the challenging experience.

After a brief absence due to health concerns, Foxx emerged again in the public eye in December 2023. He was honored with the prestigious Vanguard Award during the Critics Choice Association's event, which recognized Black, Latino, and AAPI accomplishments in film and television, explicitly applauding his role in The Burial.

The audience rose in a thunderous appreciation as he graciously received the award.

Foxx opened up about the health crisis that had brought him to the brink of death.

"I've been through something. I've been through some things. It's crazy, I couldn't do that six months ago. I couldn't actually walk, too."

To lift spirits, he playfully reassured everyone that he was not a duplicate, jokingly alluding to the online rumors about clones.

"It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now. It's different. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy."

By January 2024, Foxx was already filming for Back In Action in Atlanta.
