A new report suggests the "Jenny from the Block" star is concerned about Jessica Alba outshining her.
Rumors suggest that Alba is staging a comeback in the entertainment industry in 2024 through her Netflix movie titled Trigger Warning. This movie premiered on the streaming service in late June.
This came after Lopez burst onto the Netflix scene with the impactful release of Atlas. Despite facing criticism from reviewers, the movie resonated with viewers who streamed it in large numbers, paving the way for future collaborations between Lopez and the streaming giant.
According to an insider who spoke with Life & Style magazine, the mom-of-three is determined to build on her achievements with Netflix and is wary of Alba's intrusion.
"[Lopez] has one good thing going for her right now, and that's been her success in streaming movies, especially on Netflix."
They added, "Of course, [Biel] wants a piece of the pie. And [Lopez] is right to be concerned because [Biel] has her own relationship with the top boss at Netflix, Ted Sarandos, and the plan is clearly to make as many more [Lopez]-style movies as they can, even without [Lopez]."
Insiders reveal that Lopez and Alba have a history of competing throughout their careers, and now the latter is eager to return to the big screen.
"She has been very clear to everybody she does business with that she is serious about rebooting and reigniting her acting career and playing on the early 2000s nostalgia craze while she's at it."
In addition to this, Lopez's husband Affleck believes she's responsible for this, as she has been selecting lackluster projects.
The Batman v. Superman actor reportedly is unimpressed by Lopez's recent endeavors, possibly including her successful Netflix movie.
According to a source who spoke to The Sun, Affleck believes that his wife should consider revamping her career and surrounding herself with a more supportive team.
There have been ongoing clashes between Affleck and people on Lopez's team, leading to tension behind the scenes. One of his main concerns is Lopez's well-being and Affleck reportedly thinks she is involved in projects that are not up to par and influenced by individuals who may not always have her best interests at heart.
