Ben Affleck took his children out for dinner in Los Angeles on Wednesday, still wearing his wedding ring amid speculation about his troubled marriage to Jennifer Lopez, 54. The claims of being protective over Lopez despite their marital troubles appear valid.
The 51-year-old actor treated Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and their friends to a meal at Kaz The Soba Place.
Violet, who resembles her mother, Jennifer Garner, 52, displayed a close bond with her father as they embraced while heading to the restaurant.
Despite rumors of marital issues, Affleck appeared relaxed and focused on enjoying quality time with his children. He was casually dressed in a plaid shirt, grey T-shirt, and jeans, while Violet opted for a navy jumper and a white and blue patterned skirt.
Fin, previously known as Seraphina Rose, animatedly interacted with their friend during the outing.
Meanwhile, Lopez arrived in New York City on Monday still wearing her wedding ring, following reports that her marriage to Ben has been effectively over for several months.
According to an insider speaking to Page Six, the couple, who have not been seen together in public for a month, have reportedly been living separately since March.
After becoming engaged in 2003 and a subsequent breakup in 2004, they rekindled their romance in spring 2021.
They married in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a lavish wedding celebration at Ben's Georgia estate in August 2022.
Despite persistent breakup rumors, they have not confirmed anything.
The source added that Affleck remains "very protective" of the singer despite their situation.
Lopez's mom does not look highly at Affleck, though. The concerned mom does not believe the actor is protecting the singer amid all the divorce buzz.
The singer's mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, is reportedly urging her daughter to leave Affleck out of concern that the singer may be losing herself in the relationship. Insiders reveal that Jennifer's family believes she deserves better because Affleck appears resigned to letting their relationship falter rather than fighting to salvage it.
According to sources, Lopez's 78-year-old mother is steadfast in advising her daughter to "cut her losses" and pursue a divorce, allowing Jennifer to refocus on her career and her children, 16-year-old twins Emme and Max.
"Jennifer's mom told her, "Cut your losses and move on" to avoid getting any deeper in this mess," an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.
The singer added, "She told her that she's wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor."
