Anne-Marie has candidly discussed her battle with anxiety, revealing how it nearly led her to consider quitting her music career.
The 33-year-old singer, known for hits like "Rockabye," has been a prominent figure since her debut single in 2015, achieving 11 top 20 hits and three top three albums.
However, Anne-Marie admits that the pressures of fame took a toll on her self-assurance, reaching a point where she contemplated leaving music altogether.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, the former The Voice judge shared, "I'd always struggled a lot with anxiety and people looking at me which is kind of strange in this industry because people are going to look at your face, then lockdown happened."
"I think it was either gonna make me say, 'You know what, I can't handle this. I'm not gonna do it anymore' or it was gonna make me realise that I need to do it. Luckily, it did the latter and spurred me on to keep doing it because music just makes me happy," she added.

Anne-Marie has sought guidance from fellow music icons, including Ed Sheeran, with whom she toured in 2017. She fondly remembers his advice: "I remember that he said to keep in contact with your parents because when you're on the road, you can get lost in it. I always keep that in my mind."
Despite the challenges, Anne-Marie remains committed to her musical journey, finding solace and fulfillment in her craft.
Meanwhile, her baby daughter has inherited her huge passion for music.
The singer welcomed her first child, named Seven, with partner Slowthai in March of this year.
In a recent interview with OK!, the new mother reflected on how motherhood has transformed her life.
"Every day is different and every day I am learning something new. Before the festivals started this year I was just at home learning everything, but now I am going on the road and adjusting to that," she shared.
Anne-Marie emphasized that Seven is a delightful baby who shares her love for music.
Discussing her personal growth since becoming a mother, Anne-Marie added, "I think I am learning that every day is different and trying to go with the flow. It is mad, but I think I've been blessed with an amazing baby."
"She loves music, she loves noise, she loves sleep, and she loves food. So I've pretty much been given the best baby possible for the life that I live. It would be pretty bad if she didn't like music!" she declared in conclusion.
Anne-Marie's joy in motherhood and her daughter's shared enthusiasm for music highlight a special bond between them.
