As Dave Grohl and Noel Gallagher stood beside each other, enjoying LCD Soundsystem's performance at Glastonbury, the Foo Fighters frontman attempted to converse with the Oasis legend.
However, the latter remained aloof, refusing to engage in small talk.
Grohl seems to be in the middle of Gallagher's disapproval for advocating for a reunion between him and his brother, Liam. The "Everlong" singer has been outspoken in expressing his wish for the British musicians to mend their relationship and do a reunion.
Unfortunately, the 55-year-old vocalist finds herself in a situation where Gallagher's feelings do not mirror his own, even though he had actively fanned flames just the previous year.
During a recent podcast hosted by Matt Morgan, Gallagher revealed an interesting encounter with Grohl at Glastonbury.
Per NME, the "Champagne Supernova" hitmaker said, "I did actually bump into [Grohl]. He was about three feet away from me when I was watching LCD Soundsystem and he was staying in the same hotel I was staying in."
Even though the ex-Nirvana drummer was a regular fixture at Glastonbury, Gallagher deliberately avoided conversing with him.
He told Morgan, "I would just like him to wind his f-----g neck in about Oasis. I wouldn't talk to him. I haven't got time for that f-----g mob anymore."
In the past, Grohl has referred to the iconic British band as "a--holes" for their decision not to reunite the band, a sentiment that aligns with the brothers' mutual disinterest in a reunion.
The "Learn to Fly" singer told NME of Oasis in 2014, "To know that they're out there somewhere, but they won't come together to do the thing that everybody would love so much."
Ever since then, he has consistently advocated for their reconciliation, going as far as initiating a petition that only succeeded in further aggravating Gallagher.
Following a successful 18-year run and a string of song, Oasis disbanded in 2009 due to ongoing personal conflicts between the two Gallagher brothers, hindering their collaborative efforts.
Since then, the rift between the brothers has deepened, with occasional talks of reunions that never materialized - including a failed attempt to book Wembley Arena.
Meanwhile, in 2019, Gallagher expressed his desire to launch a petition to disband the Foo Fighters.
This decision came after the Foo Fighters headlined the Reading Festival, during which frontman Grohl and the late drummer Hawkins announced their intention to start a petition urging Oasis to reunite.
During a gig in California at the time, Gallagher said, according to NME, "I'd like to start a petition to get Foo Fighters to split up."
