Die-hard Neon Trees fans were certainly rejoicing in Milwaukee's Summerfest yesterday.

At Summerfest, attendees were treated to not one, but two electrifying performances by the multi-platinum band Neon Trees.

The day kicked off with an intimate lounge session at the American Family House, followed by a dynamic show at the Miller Lite Oasis, where the band showcased their signature disco-infused sound.

The anticipation for Neon Trees' headline show later that night was palpable from early on.

Fans eagerly lined up for over two hours for a chance to join the band in a private session at the American Family House. Summerfest's unique format transforms main stage acts into free, cozy sessions resembling a living room setting, complete with well-worn rugs and kitchen stools that seemed straight out of a thrift store.

The band, catapulted to stardom by their 2010 smash album "Habits," understood the expectations of their fans who had patiently waited in the Wisconsin sun to hear their favorite hits like "Animal."

Neon Trees delivered exactly what they wanted that during their four-song living room session.

The set featured three platinum hits alongside a preview from their upcoming 2024 album.

Following the session, fans were treated to an intimate conversation with the band, providing insight into their personalities and origins.

Lead singer Tyler Glenn captured their dynamic succinctly, describing the group as a close-knit family.

This playful spirit was evident during their main stage performance.

Glenn kept the audience engaged with his witty banter and interactions.

At one memorable moment, he humorously introduced himself as "your stepdad's worst nightmare," prompting laughter and cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.

He also shared anecdotes from their journey to stardom, including their memorable debut at Summerfest in 2010, where he appeared as Captain EO and was moved to tears by the overwhelming support from the audience.

Glenn fondly recalled calling his mom afterward to share his emotions, emphasizing Milwaukee's special place in his heart.

This marked Neon Trees' sixth appearance at Summerfest, underscoring their enduring affinity for Milwaukee and its enthusiastic fans.

At present, the band is also gearing up for their fifth album release and an exciting fall tour.

"It's been fun to do this as long as we've been doing this now. The four of us are in a very good space. We're in love with each other again. We've really found a way to make the band a real sacred area in our lives," Glenn tells PRIDE.

It will be kicking off in September. The band will perform a setlist across the country of both their old and upcoming music.

"A lot of people thing we either broke up or took a hiatus and we never did. We're in the middle of building an actual show again, which is really exciting. We're playing the songs people want to hear. You'll be happy if you're a fan of the band. We were told we weren't ever going to be able to tour again. That's not the case and that's really exciting."
